Laws and tax regulations governing oil industry subcontractors

 ERNST & YOUNG followed up on the success of its first seminar for oil industry subcontractors in the sub-region

(Gabon, Congo, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea) in Libreville in December 2006 by hosting another one on Wednesday 23 April 2008, this time in Pointe Noire, Congo.

The debates focused on the laws and tax, labour and customs regulations applicable to the sub-region’s oil industry subcontractors, which often encounter the same problems but with different solutions depending on the country. Many companies in Gabon, including ADDAX PETROLEUM, ACERGY, GLOBAL SANTA FE, MARATHON, SESI, TECHNIP and PRIDE, sent people to Congo to attend the debates moderated by Ernst &

Young lawyers and legal advisors from each of the abovementioned countries.

GABON AIRLINES, the event’s official carrier, brought them to the seminar in comfort and gave one participant chosen in a random drawing a free business class planeticket to the destination of his choice
